Our Story

My interest in racing began when at the age of 5, in a small general store, in rural Ontario Canada, I saw Don the Snake Prudhomme doing a fire burnout on the cover of Hot Rod Magazine.  This image never left my mind and sparked my interest in drag racing.  Many years later, in 1995 I began my racing career in Super Comp, and moved to the Top Alcohol ranks in 1999.  With the help of family and friends, we won several divisional and national events, and we accomplished a world record setting pass for the quickest blown alcohol dragster ever, with an ET of 5.255 secs. at the NHRA Virginia Nationals in October 2006, which we held for four years.  Over the years, we continued to be competitive and procured a full complement of Rottler equipment for our racing requirements and small machine shop.  By 2018, we realized we wanted to make major improvements to the 8.3 Liter Arias engine we ran, originally designed by Nick Arias, so we purchased a 5 Axis machine large enough to fit our blocks and a CNC lathe for many of our smaller parts.  KPXA was founded and together with our qualified programmers and machinists, our journey in the manufacturing world of highly competitive, durable engines was launched.

In 2022 we made our big move to our 22,000 square foot facility in Thomasville, North Carolina.  Together with all the equipment and components we had already begun to manufacture, and talented staff that made the journey with us, we continue to strive for exceptional performance.

Our goal is to continue to build highly competitive, durable, engines while also being aesthetically appealing, and to meet or exceed our customer’s needs in new parts or maintenance and repair services.
