A chimney split (or burst panel diverter chimney) for a blower is a specialized component, often CNC-machined from billet aluminum, designed to safely divert the massive pressure, fuel, and the fire from a supercharger “backfire” (burst panel failure) up through the hood, preventing damage to the car’s bodywork.
